For the last few weeks, aol has been automatically
turning itself on when the computer is "sleeping."
The message that pops us says "Microsoft Windows
Operating System has automatically launched AOL to access
the internet." Then tells me how to change my default
dialer. However, the instructions don't follow the
options on my screen.
I also 'talked' to AOL and they told me to do something
else, but it was already done.
Anyone know how to stop these auto turn ons?????
Thank you very much,
Barb

The first thing you need to find out is what program(s) are trying to access
the internet. If it is XP itself then it's probably Windows Update otherwise
we can help more if we know what program(s) are causing this problem.
