Turning off the touchpad

How does one turn off the touchpad?

I've searched everywhere I can and none of the suggestions work. I can't
find the touchpad in the device manager, it's not under mouse setttings in
the control panel and there's no icon for it in the taskbar.

It's driving me crazy, as I use a Toshiba notebook and I can't seem to type
without skimming the mousepad and making the computer do stupid things.

Hello,

Have you tried disabling it in the BIOS setup?

Sorry, I am not sure how you get into the BIOS for Toshiba laptops. Normally
it is the DEL or F1 key that you press when the Toshiba logo shows in
booting up.

You can also try re-installing the mouse driver - look for the Drivers CD
that came with your laptop, so that it will enable the icon back in the
system tray.

get in touch Toshiba they can tell you.....If you have all of the updates it
will be simple (like F10) be careful with this as I did my updates as Toshiba
requested and now my Touchpad will not work ....
