Running Win Vista on Toshiba laptop with Synaptics touchpad.

How can I turn off mouse (or touchpad) tapping?

Thanks for your help.

The properties and options for the touchpad will be in the Control Panel.

Thanks for your help.

In Control Panel under hardware/mouse there is no adjustment or turn-off
option for tapping. Or at least I can't find it. In WinXP there was.

The touchpad device can be disabled with a "disable" button on the Driver
tab in the Properties of the touchpad device in Device manager.
(start/orb/type: devmgmt.msc)

He just wants to disable the tap-for-click.

I'm not very familiar with Toshiba laptops, but there may be some sort of
Toshiba configuration centre software.
