Hi Everyone,
I recently downloaded VideoLAN because lots of good people in this
newsgroup are singing praises to it. I like it and I'm going to keep
it, but the context menus bother me. (And I wish that VLC could use
Real Alternative too...)
Back to the point: Now I have context menu items when I right click on
Recycle Bin that give me the option of playing the RECYCLE BIN in VLC.
These same items appear in every context menu throughout Windows too.
I like VLC, but I don't like those context menu items---and maybe other
people don't like them either.
If you'd like to remove those VLC items from your context menus, make a
..reg file with the following text (but do not include the asterisks):
***************************************************Top of Page
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\AddToPlaylistVLC]
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\PlayWithVLC]
***************************************************
Double click on your reg file and those context menus will disappear.
As usual, there is the obligatory disclaimer about how .reg files can
mess up your computer, burn your house down and ruin your life....
blah, blah, blah.
PS: If anyone figures out how to integrate Real Alternative into VLC so
it can play RealPlayer files---then VLC would be the coooooolest media
player in the history of computing.
Cheers, my friends---and thank you all for the tip about VLC because
it's really great!
