Turn Security Off

Every time I go to use a file on another computer on my
peer-to-peer network, I get a message saying the file is
read-only, or may be in use. I need to be able to freely
access all files from any computer on my network. How do
I turn off the security feature universally? Where do I
make the change - on the source computer or on the
destination computer?
Thanks.

Hi. Maybe you only have read permissions at the "source" computer. To verify
this, go to the shared folder properties page, share tab; there should be a
button labeled "permissions". Click it. A new window will open showing you
which user accounts have what permissions to the folder. Make sure that the
account you want to use to access the shared folder has read & modify
privileges. Then, after closing this window, do it again, but at the
security tab.

I hope that helps.
