Turn on screensaver at will?

With earlier versions of Windows, using the Microsoft Office Toolbar, I could
use a button to turn on the screensaver whenever I wanted.

How can I set some quick function to turn on my screensaver if I wish, when
I step away from my desk?

You could create a shortcut on the desktop that invokes this command:

rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation

You could then move this shortcut into the QuickLaunch bar or else assign a
shortcut key to it.

Thanx, Pegasus. I found C:\WINDOWS\system32\sspipes.scr on my harddrive,
made a shortcut to it on the desktop, and it does turn on the screensaver.
However is does NOT invoke the password protections I had selected via
desktop properties screensaver. Will your instruction, typed exactly as
you wrote it

The man needs an aptly named "Boss Key".

Use Google to find some small customizable applications from
unverified sources that seem to work.

Just punch your F12 (or whatever) key and instant wallpaper, screen
saver, lock the workstation, etc.
