turn off notifications and tips

How can I turn off the various notifications and tips that pop up?

For example, wwhen windows decides to hide inactive icons in the system tray
and the bubble pops up telling you this has been done.

Go into Control Panel -- Folder Options -- On the View tab
Uncheck the box labeled "Show pop-up description for
folder and desktop items"

To turn off balloon tips in applications that support XP
Themes:
1. Start Regedit
2. Go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
\Explorer\Advanced\
3. Create a DWORD value of EnableBalloonTips, give it
a value of 0.
