Hi,
I am not sure if you meant those little icons on the system tray, such as
displaying power, mouse, and little computers for internet connections, and
so on?
Many can be disbabled and based on what I know there are three ways (at
least):
(1) Remove from "Startup" group - click Start/All Programs/Startup and
you'll see a list of program links there. If you do not wish them to start
upon login to the Windows, simply delete those program links,
(2) Select from program options: For many better-written applications and
Windows build-in programs, such as network connection, power, etc., you can
"choose" not to have them to display on the system tray. Simply
double-click the icon or right-click the icon to bring up programs, and look
for "options" "preferences" or other words for how to disable icons on the
system tray.
(3) IRRIATING programs: Now there are some really irritating programs that
are not so easy to be removed, and I especially hate QuickTime so I
un-installed it once for all. You could use a "free" utility called
"X-Setup Pro" to find out which programs are really doing things behind your
back when Windows starts. Google for "X-Setup Pro 6.6" since after that
version, it is no longer "free". I remembered some people still list in
their sites for free download. Please do read Help File carefully before
you use it/
If you mean pop-up windows, well, this might be something else.
Good luck.
