Turn off default auto archive

Every time I change a archive setting on a folder in Outlook '03, automatic
archiving is turned on. I DO NOT want automatic archiving. I WANT to
determine when archiving is done. Having it set to auto as a default setting
is fine. Let me change it if I want to and then have it STAY at what I set it
to.

Howdy,

I am not sure that I understand your post, but...

Tools | Options | AutoArchive will allow you to turn off
AutoArchiving.

Then, right clicking on a folder, select Properties | AutoArchive and
set that folder's archiving to any schedule you need.

Does that do what you wanted...?

All the best,

Thanks, but the problem begins when I go into properties and change. A
window pops up telling me Outlook is going to turn on auto archive with a
setting of every 7 days. After your reply I played with it again. The window
gives me an "OK" and a "Cancel" Button. The OK makes the changes, but I guess
I wasn't paying attention, the CANCEL does just that - it doesn't make the
change.

Thanks again
