Turn off computer

Hello to all,

I have a proble with my computer, I am using XP home
version. I was able to before to turn off my computer by
going to the Start tool bar, and the clicking on "Tun Off
Computer" and it would turn off automatically. Well now
when I try to do the same thing my computer only re
starts and does not turn off. I then have to use the
Power button to turn off my computer. I would love to
have some help in being able to use my "Turn Off
Computer" tab from my Start tool bar. Help.
