Turn computer off and on

I have a computer at my home and vacation home. They are connected
through remote desktop. Both running xp pro. Problem is when one of
the comptuers hangs at either location, I can't reboot because I can't
get into the comptuer. Is there software or hardware that would allow
me to shut down and restart not just reboot? I am running Roadrunner at
both houses.

You could also set up an OpenSSH server, which will allow you to
access a secure command line to run the shutdown command...
