Trying to use a feature from Office 2000 Premium which is not installed

Hi,

Probably a simple explanation.

I have Office 2000 Premium and Office 2003 OUTLOOK, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
and Publisher installed.

Recently as Outlook 2003 install it attempts to use the Windows Installer
for MS Office 2000 always ending with an ("Error 1706. No Valid source could
be found for product Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Premium. The Windows
installer cannot continue.")

It contues to do this and the only way of stopping it is to cancel the
configure Panel before it gets to the Error 1706 panel.

Outlook 2003 does load and appears to work ok.

How do I stop the Installer.

All suggestions welcomed.

John

Hi Vince,

Yes I do have the disks.

Putting the Disk 1 which contains Outlook etc into the CD has no effect.

I think I have a corrupt XP.

What do you think?

Regards - John
