Trying to remove an old "documents and settings" folder.

To make a long story short, I recently gave up on Vista with my
family's main PC,
(for the long story, see
hxxp://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windows.vista.general/browse_thread/thread/89cb5e53e3199a12/7d36116e65576d5d?lnk=st&q=my+vista+experience+crzzy1&rnum=1&hl=en#7d36116e65576d5d
)

I have used a separate HD to put XP on, and now I cannot get rid of
the old and now defunct Vista "documents and settings" folder that
currently resides on my "D" drive.
XP says I don't have permissions even in safe mode to delete this. It
sees this as a protected folder from another OS.

My question is, Could someone tell me what is the easiest way to
remove this folder and reclaim my HD space?

Thanks,
Crzzy1

You'll have to take ownership then give yourself full control. If you have
XP Home this can only be done in safe mode.
