trying to install office 2000 premium into win xp.

trying to install office 2000 but i get an error 1305. can't find
e:\pfiles\msoffice\mso9.dll. I can't continue installing. do I need to
install this file? will it not install because this xp is a newer version?
Please help. my pc came installed with ms works 8.
