TRYING TO INSTALL NORTON GO BACK 3.5 PERSONAL

I keep trying to install Norton (Symantec) Go Back 3.5 Personal in my
daughter's Compaq Presario M2000 runnin Windows XP Home and a 2.8 Ghz AMD
Sempron CPU. I have it on 2 other non SATA drive systems at home and it
works great. After I install it I get the blue screen of death
IRQ_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL. I have to disable it then the computer starts
OK. I looked on Symantec Knowledge Base and only found 1 related article to
remove and re-isntall Symevent, which I did and it still does the same thing
when I re-enable GO Back. Anyone familiar with this issue and how to resolve
it?

Go Back imho, is not worth the cd it's saved to, the system restore with xp
is much better , just be sure to backup your personal data, and create a
restore point before you install software.

Be careful with Goback. I had serious issues with it.

Hello,
This is what I would do in your situation.
Remove GoBack and any files left behind.
Disconnect your on-line link. Reboot.
Use Clean disc, Check Disc and Defragmenter.
Make sure there is enough free space as GoBack needs about 10% of the HD.
Close down all programs, such as AV, System Restore, screen saver, firewall,
pop-up stopper and any office programs that are running in the background.

Try to install GoBack.
If this does not work contact GoBack home office.

I am not capable with software and hardware for computers.
Have used GoBack from the beginning issue before it was sold to Adaptec.

Remember never use a boot cd or floppy without first accessing the GoBack
boot screen using the space bar during boot-up. This gives the option to boot
with the external disc without causing M.B.R. problems.

I prefer to go one step further. The need for Go Back or restore points is
just further proof that XP isn't a real operating system. Real operating
systems don't need such silly baggage. They either work or they don't and
certainly installing a new piece of software should impact the operating
system in anyway.

Run away from Norton. I have see and heard to many bad storeis then good
stores. I was a believer of Norton , Norton system works,ffor years. But now
with their Ghoast program, NO> 100% NO. Nothing by trouble. Remove it delet
ie. Don't even install it don't even think if buying it. I have had norton
for years. I have system works for 05 and 06 and i dont use it. it stops or
freeses my pc. I have taken it off. Oh, and try to get a voice to give you
step by step instrction for you to get it up and running correctly.
Connectting to them is one thing, the man thing, getting it fixed is another,
don't waiste your time with it,. Look around for other better and more stable
software programe. Need more answers, email me. Ill tell you that i am not
using any norton, and all norton is no longer on my system, which it was fir

I have used this for several years on 2 of my home computers and it has
worked great. I have found that System Restore does not always revert the
sytem back. Also if your system won't boot you can't access System Restore
and even though I have seen a way to supposedly boot to that feature I have
never gotten it to work. Also System Restore will not always restore deleted
files and Go Back usually does.

I'll try doing what beamish said. I did do a defrag before, but I think
there is a conflict with a driver in that program and something on the Compaq
system. I ordered the 4.0 Edition to try it.
