Trying to install Clearcase but get W2K error message

Hi,

I am trying to install clearcase on to my Win2000 PC and after the
installation, when I set up parameters, I get a message saying :

Registry Error
Error 160: The argument string passed to DosExecPgm is not correct.
Error updating the "xxxxx" registry key.

I know that this is not a clearcase problem as we have installed it on other
W2K m/cs. It looks more likely a OS related issue.
Does anyone know how to debug this.

thanks, but the link didn't help much. I go to the registry directly and set
the values there. I can set it fine there. (however clearcase service does
not start in the services in control panel). The clearcase admin tells me
that it is a Windows installer file that is corrupted and nothing wrong with
CC. I try to manually execute the albd_service.exe and do not find it started
in the services. There must be some kind of corrutption in the registry
probably.

Sorry, wouldn't have the first clue of what a properly formatted string
looks like here. Maybe try the application compatibility tab.
