Trying to import a .mpg video

When I try to import it an error message says, 'The file is not valid because
it contains no information'

Hello,

Movie Maker does not work perfectly with any file that an extension
starting with an "M"

I should go to www.videohelp.com/convert fill in the simple questionare
and then choose a converter that will give you an AVI file by preference or
a WMV file. Both of these formats wil import to Movie Maker without
problems.

I should have added. Nero (www.nero.com) WILL Edit and/or Convert your file
to DV-AVI format. The 30 day trial version can not create DVD's but it may
do the conversion for you....and if it does its going to be a damm site
easier than many other ways of doing it....If you do not have it...it would
be worth a try...the part you want is the download containing Nero Vision
