Trying to download old game on windows xp

Im trying to download a game (magic the gathering: duels of the planeswalkers) on my computer. When it is finished installing it states that it can not run because i do not have windows 95 (i have xp home edition). Is there anyway I cant install and play this game.

Have you looked into Compatibility Mode? Take a look in Help and Support
and at this TechNet article about legacy applications:

Sometimes with older you need to start the install in Compatibility Mode so
it thinks it is installing on the intended operating system.
