Trying to change Windows XP SP2 with volume license product key

I have come across a few computers at my workplace that have illegal copies
of Windows XP Pro installed on them. I recently purchased Microsoft Volume
Licenses for Windows XP Pro. Is there an easy way to change the product key
on those computers to the new validated licensed product key instead of
reinstalling the entire Windows OS? These computers already have the SP2
already installed.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can provide me with information. I truly
appreciate it.

If the original installation was performed using a Volume License version:

You need to talk to whomever sold you the volume license or Microsoft
directly. A volume license is for upgrades only. You need an existing
license to upgrade from in order to be compliant with Microsoft's licensing
terms. As the original XP is pirated you do not have license to upgrade
from. See the following link for how to contact Microsoft and how VL works.

Kerry,

The original systems had a valid licensed version of Windows 98 for the
operating system. I believe the Windows XP upgrade that was applied was a
pirated copy installed by my predecessor. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I
believe by purchasing the volume license for Windows XP upgrade, I should be
compliant with Microsoft's licensing terms. Thanks for the info.

Carey,

I'm trying it out now on one of the machines. I'll let you know if it works
out. Thanks for the advice.

You should be OK. It's a real pain trying to stay compliant with Microsoft's
licensing terms.

Thanks Carey,

It worked like a charm. It took a little more time than I would've like it
to take, but it definitely works.
