True Image 10.0 Will Not Restore Image Help

T

Tom

Have a Dell D620 Laptop running True Image 10.0 v4942 on a Win XP SP2
machine. I messed up and changed the hard drive to a Dynamic type and True
Image does not support Dynamic Drives.

I have a full disk image stored on an external USB Drive which is
accessible.

Loaded a Windows XP disk and removed the dynamic partition, loaded a fresh
copy of XP and then True Image 10 thinking I could then get to the image on
the USB drive and restore it.

I have a Recovery CD made as well. It does not matter if I try to start
the Recovery CD or use the program itself from the fresh copy of XP, the
restore will not start. The Acronis Loader starts, displays the message
"Loading, please wait..." and then freezes.

Can anyone point me in the correct direction as I am stumped why the
Recovery Disk or the program itself will not restore the image.

TIA!

This is really an Acronis question, not a Windows question.
The Acronis FAQs might be a better place to look for answers.
I believe that Acronis recommend that you create an Acronis
Recovery CD. You then boot your machine with this CD and
restore the hard disk image from the image file on the USB
drive. There is no need to load an auxiliary copy of WinXP.

I found the problem. As soon as I unplugged my WiFi card from the slot,
the Recovery Disk loaded and performed normally.

Any speculation as to WHY the Wifi card had prevented restore ??
