true clean vista re-install

I want to do a true clean re-install of Vista Ultimate, and wipe out all data
on my hard drive (not a clean lite re-install). When I select drive D I'm
told it's too small to use for the install. I'm unable to resize this drive.
Please help, what do I do?

If the drive is too small, then you will have to find a larger drive to
install it on.
Do you not have a C: drive ?
Is D: a drive as you state or is it a volume on a drive that also contains
your C: volume.
If the later then you can delete all partitions on your drive so that you
will have more room.

Vista would be installed on the C: Drive.
Delete that partition
It sounds like D: drive is a Recovery Partition for you to make Recovery
disks.
You don't say whether you have the vista Ultimate disk or not!
If you don't, it would be on the D: partition

Hi Gary,

Sorry, I really don't know what I'm doing but I have a C drive and the D
drive is a recovery drive I think on the C drive. I do have the Vista
Ultimate disk. Sorry, I don't know how to delete all partitions, could you
give me the exact steps please.

Hi Mick,

You're right, D is a recovery partition. I do have the Vista Ultimate disk.
Sorry, I'm not very knowledgeable about this, what exactly do I need to do,
step by step, please.

You should just run the recovery process that uses the recovery partition to
recreate the C drive as it came from the factory, with all the drivers etc.
that are needed.
