Re-installing Vista on Vista Machine

Guest

I attempted to re-install a clean copy of Vista on my computer. I chose
clean install, but i'm not sure it formatted my machine for a true "clean"
install. Did I skip a step? I would like my harddrive formatted for a clean
install.

If you didn't ask Vista to format the drive then it hasn't. See this link
from my website:

Hi,

Agree with John. You will likely find the old installation under
windows.old. What you have done is basically create a new windows install
without removing any existing data files. Programs would need to be
reinstalled from their original installation media. but files stored in the
user profiles should be recoverable by taking ownership.
