Trouble with XP

AVG detected virus in some windows files on my PC and so I deleted them.

Now when i start PC windows is not working.

what should i do

it is Windows XP Professional SP2 2005 edition

Can you describe what the PC does do when you try to start-up, how far it
gets or any error messages.
