trouble with windows xp

I have tried to download a program called sun java it goes so far then wont
finish. It says that my windows has not been installed right or something.

Go to http://www.msn.com search,type:Microsoft Java Virtual Machine
In the results page,locate the download (it'll have to come from 3rd
party),it
should have x86 or similiar,install it,restart computer,then go to windows
update for the update,its 5.0
