Trouble with Update 1.14.1325.6

Pursuant to a Notice in my SysTray I downloaded and installed update
1.14.1325.6, KB 915587. A Notice again appeared in my SysTray and I again
downloaded and installed the update, thinking it was another new one.
Another Notice again appeared in my SysTray. It was for the same update. I
checked my History of updates with Microsoft’s Update site and found that I
had successfully installed the update 1.14.1325.6 twice. However, the Notice
will not leave my SysTray. Any suggestions?

YEAH!! I have the same issue...It's kind of annoying, it tells you that you
need an update and then it still bugs you to do so!!!

Same problem. Had the same problem with the .1 update. And, Defender says I
haven't updated my definitions in 15 days so I tell it to update, it says it
has, then I get the same message. Annoying!

Tried that - couldn't find the 'installation' package. Still says it is
'up-to-date' after checking for updates, but the program still says it is 16
days out-of-date, and the auto-update reappears right after installation.

In general, if you get an error using the KB 915105 method, then the next
fix is:

http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;290301

download the windows installer cleanup utility via a link in the above
article

Install it, and run it via Start, All Programs.

Find "windows defender signatures" and REMOVE that.

Then update via either Windows Update or update within Windows
Defender--whatever works.
