trouble with lava soft download

I am attempting to download lava soft spyware program and even though I can
put the exe file into the computer. I cannot open it and install it. I am
needing to get rid of a so-called spy ware prevention program that is
already on the computer. Any ideas here, please? I appreciate this
newsgroup. Dick Ross

Do you mean you have a security program installed that is
blocking the Ad-Aware SE installation?

Most such programs can be disabled, if you post the name of
the program, perhaps you'll get instructions. But you might
start by looking at the help file with the program.

I am going to attempt to use spy bot search and destroy to take it off.
There is no help file showing. It looks like a highjack browser software. I
can't control home page in the IE either. Thanks for the suggestion, Dick
Ross

If you have a hijacker try downloading cwshedder. If that doesn't work try
hijack this. Be careful with hijack this. Mike.

Get CW Shredder and Hijack This from
http://www.aumha.org/freeware/freeware.php (linked downloads)
Boot Safe Mode, run CW Shredder first, which may be enough. If not,
next stage would be HiJackThis . Make a C:\Hijack folder to put it
in, run it, save its log., and ask the expert group on interpreting
results at the location linked from that page
