Trouble with desktop background

hey i had spyware attack my computer including pesttrap which installed
itself. my background, which was a picture went blue. i installed webroot
spysweeper and removed all the spyware which had all happened at one
occasion. i am not able to put anything for my desktop background. even the
list of pictures that comes with windows does not appear even after selecting
and clicking apply. does anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem?

sounds like you may still have a bug,run a scan and go to your virus(spyware
ect.) provider to find a fix
