Trouble with Colors

I use MicroSoft Outlook 2000 SP-3 (9.0.0.6627).
I notice two things about colors that I couldn't find answers to in
the Help section:

First, some messages come through (into the In box) in color. When I
use Organize/Using Colors, I can't seem to change them to a different
color.

Second, I occasionally would like to organize e-mail by color. When I
want to change the color a particular person's mail (Make all mail
FROM John Doe BLUE), I get the "Done!" sign, but the e-mail doesn't
ALWAYS change color.

Helpful input would be very much appreciated.

1) Look at the view menu for customize current view or define views. If you
use define views, select the view by name and choose modify. look under the
automatic formatting button.

2) is the name and address exactly identical? The automatic formatting rule
needs it to be exact.
