Trouble Saving MM for DVD Time sensitive

Please, I need some help...I know I am getting close, but running out of time
for trial and error...here is my situation: I have some experience with MM
2.1. I made a combo video with imported .avi, .jpeg, .wav songs...saved the
1st version and made the DVD using the DV-AVI NTSC setting...it worked, but I
had a couple of glitches I wanted to fix before the final version.

Now the problem...I needed to edit a couple issues (music transitions, slide
transitions)...did it...tried to save it...got the message..."can't save the
movie to file..."...Looked up the fixes..tried them..changed the save movie
to "High Quality video (NTSC)...Movie saved...started out clear, clean and
perfect...BUT...froze on picture 5 minutes into 16 minute video...sound track
was perfect...What a bummer.

How can I get it ALL to work? (Hopefully without cutting out effects or
transitions) I will be showing this at a Wedding...In the next 7 days... I
have a Pent 4 CPU: 3.4Gig, 3 Gig Ram, 300 Gig HD (lots of room)
