Trouble installing Macromedia Flash Player.

I am running Internet Explorer 6 on Windows 2000 Pro. I am
having trouble installing Macromedia Flash Player.

When I try to install direct from Macromedia's site, it
goes to the install window and then does nothing. No error
messages or anything. I have installed the stand alone
version but it does not work with IE6 when I go to a site
needing flash.

I have tried this with multiple versions of flash from 4
to 7 but the same result.

I have lowered all access and security settings as low as
they will go. I have disabled anti-virus and Internet
Security. None of this helped.

Can anyone help me please?

Thank you!

Hopefully you can get an answer. I've had this problem for about a year and
did all the same things as you with no solution. Actually, I've had the
problem since a purchased a new computer with XP which I didn't have with
all previous 9x versions so it seems to have something to do with NT OS.
