Flash player not working with IE6.

Hi, I have a problem with my Flash player. None of the
flash movies inside IE6 play... it always says I do not
have it installed. When I go to install it on the
macromedia site, it says the installation should take 1-2
mins with a 56k modem... however, i'm on DSL and once
waited for 50 minutes with absolutely nothing getting
installed. I checked my internet traffic, and it said I
haven't odnwloaded a single kb. OK.. i figured fine. My
friend let me install his Macromedia Studio MX, and I made
sure that Flash Player 6 was installed. However, IE6 still
doesn't recognize it. Then I installed Netscape, and Flash
Player worked fine with it. However, I do not like
Netscape, and would like to resolve this problem with IE6.
I have WinXP Pro with SP 1. Does anyone know what could be
causing this?

Try this:
Click tools/internet options/settings/view objects
Delete anything in this folder that doesn't say installed.
Done !

Hi, thanks for all your replies. I've tried both your
methods and none worked. I still can't play any Flash
movies nor install a Flash player. I ran a virus scan
w/Norton Antivirus 2004, then a spyware check with Spy
bot, foudn no viruses, and 15 spyware progs.... deleted
that, and still Flash doesn't work. Another thing I found
is that when i checked the 'objects' in the internet
options, it seemed like the Flash ActiveX control was
missing. The Shockwave was there, but no Flash. Is this
where the problem is?
