Trouble entering username in FP

I am trying to edit a website. I do "Open Website". I enter the username as
"pawsitivelydogsnet" and then the password. It then changes the username to
"gs\pawsitivelydogsnet". This was not happening at the end of November. I
hope someone can help me. The website host says it's not a problem on their
end and I can't do any editing. Thanks in advance

Yes, this is controlled on the Web Host's end. My suggestion would be to
keep trying technical support until you get someone who would help.

Is it possible for you to tell me more specifically how it is controlled on
the Web Host's end. We only have one technical support contact (the owner)
and he's almost demeaning to deal with so if I had something specific to tell
him it might make it easier on me.
