trouble copying songs to miniSD card

I am trying to get music files on my miniSD card to use in my cell phone. I
can not get anything to work. I tried using Media player 10 and I've tried
drag and drop from explorer. When doing this I get a message that the file
does not exist or is being used by another program. I'm not running anything
else so I don't know what this means. Using Media Player 10 it just says
aborted. I am a newbie so any help would be greatly appreciated. I followed
all instructions on formatting the card in the phone , etc. but can't seem to
get it to work. I'm running XP and the cell phone is an LG VX8100 (verizon)

am in same situation. i got a miniSD, but i don't have SD reader yet..
so i will buy and transfer some files.. but not yet.
