This problem is also happening to me. I'm running Windows
2000 Server and applied SP4 to it yesterday (up to this
point it had been running fine). Now I notice that the
computer takes _ages_ to get to the logon screen
("Preparing Network Connections" stays on the screen for a
long time), and Internet Explorer takes ages to load any
URL I type (but it's fine once I get into the first page
of a website). If anyone has any solution to this I'd be
very grateful!
in searching the windows update newsgroup I found a few
things that might work to fix this... haven't tried them
yet, but will do so after work...take a look there too
