trojans

linda

i recently began using mcafee which i really like, as far
as virus,trojans etc i am a beginner i guess u would say.

My anti-virus popped up stating that it found a trojan
and deleted it to complete the clean process (download-
da.dll) I then did a complete scan and when it was done
same thing found 2 more times, i it cleaned and the other
it could'nt so i quarintined it.

Well I found some wierd things that im thinking might
have something to do with the trojan, a progam called
instant access, that i never downloaded, and it also has
some site info (best i can explain)

How do I know if the trojan is completly gone, and if
these are suspect programs is there a way to quarintine
these, should i delete? or ???

can someone help...when i was checking one of the above
suspect programs my anti virus popped up again saying
same trojan was found (it was different path or file
name)

any help much appreciated....thx linda

(remember im pretty new at this so easy on me with the
complex things if possible....)

Hi Linda,
The best way to get rid of a virus is to start your
machine in safe mode and run a complete virus scan. This
gives you the best chance of removing as many as possible
of these critters.
Start your PC while tapping the F8 key every second. In
the menu choose "Start in Safe mode". Once booted, run
your virus scan. When finished, reboot your machine.
If you still have virusses that are not cleaned up. Write
down the names and check for removal instructions on
www.symantec.com

Afterwards, you also want to check your machine for
spyware/parasites
Download, install, *update* and run these two programs:
Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot from http://security.kolla.de/ (Remove items
listed in red.)
