Trojan Horse

Today(11/10), I rec'd a pop up from my Norton Antivirus
program that said it had detected a Trojan Horse virus on
my computer but was unable to do anything about it. I let
my subscription lapse with Norton about a week ago and
about 2 weeks ago I upgraded from an AOL DSL line to a
Comcast cable one. My question is can I just go to Norton,
buy a new subscription, and then run the program to fix
this thing? Or can I just get a patch/download from
Microsoft? I don't really know what a Trojan Horse is or
what it does.

If you know the full name of the virus you can still go
to nortons web site and get removal instructions,The
reason that a/v programs cant remove some viruses is
because of the different variants and you need to know
the evact name and get the proper tool
