Transparent Child window of opened Excel file in Excel 2002

I have problem in opening Excel file in Excel 2002. If I double click on an
Excel file, the child window of the opened file becomes transparent such
that the desktop can be seen thru' the child window. There is no problem if
I open the Excel file from Excel 2002.
