transparent backgrounds with colour slides

Please help. I am trying to use our department logo as a transparent
background for a presentation i am doing. Can i have, for example, blue
slides with my logo in the background?? I cannot find a way of doing this
and keep getting to the point where my logo is displayed on a boring white
background. If i try to change the background colour to blue then the logo
disappears....please help as i dont have much time left before i have to
present the talk in London.

You need to edit your logo in a paint program and make the white portion blank,
and save it as either a .png or .gif file then insert it into your presentation.
