Transferring Programs from Overloaded Harddisc

I have very little space on my C Drive and would very much like to transfer
some of my programs to an external USB Hard Drive connection. Can I do this,
and if so HOW?

Most software needs to be installed rather than transfered. Uninstall the
packages from your C: drive and reinstall them to your external drive.
