Transferring pics from camera..

I was tryng to transfer pictures from my camera's internal memory directly to
the comuter. I'm kind of new at this so please bear with me. The box came
up asking which program I wanted to use and I chose Microsoft PictureIt
Publishing, but I meant to chose a newer version of PictureIt Photo. Of
course I checked the little box that says "always use this program". So now
when I plug in my camera it automatically brings us PIP. I would like to
change that, but it is not a big deal. However when PIP comes up it does not
recognize the connection with the camera and instead initalizes my scanner
bed and starts scanning. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Kristen,
If they are jpg files, try the following. Right click on any jpg file and
select open with, chose program, and select the program you want to use from
the list. Be sure to check "always use this program" box (not sure of exact
wording).
