Old PC is XP Home with Outlook 2002.
I have other .pst files besides the default Outlook.pst

New PC is Vista Home Premium
New PC does not have Outlook.

I will use either Windows Mail, Winodws Live Mail, or Thunderbird on new PC
(whichever makes the transition easiest)

Where should I move the .pst files from the old PC on the new PC so that
New mail can import them?

OR

Suppose on old PC I import into Outlook Express 6 from Outlook and OE6
creates dbx files --
Where on new PC should I put dbx files so that new mail client can import
them?

OR

What else do I need to do?

Thanks-
Steve

I'd import into OE on the old machine then do the migration to the new
machine.

If you aren't planning to install Outlook on the Vista machine, then Vince's
plan is what you should do. Move everything from Outlook to Outlook Express
on the XP machine, take all the OE .DBX files to the Vista machine, then
import them using these instructions:

I imported messages from Outlook into OE on my old XP PC OK.
But OE only imported messages from outlook.pst, not another .pst file I
have.

Other than moving the folders in OldMail.pst into Outlook.pst, how can I get
OE to import them?

Thanks-
Steve

Temporarily make OldMail.pst your delivery location.

I temporarily make OldMail.pst the delivery location in Outlook.
Then in Outlook, exported to OE6.

Then I copied the dbx files that were created as a result of the export
(from OldMail.pst) to a folder on the new PC.
When I try to import into Windows Mail, I select the folder (just
mentioned), but Windows Mail says it doesn't see anything to import.

What step did I miss in this process?

Thanks-
Steve

Did you copy the file called Folders.dbx? That's the usual reason for WM not
seeing an OE message store.....
