Transferring email and favorites from W98 to XP

I have just switched from '98 in my old computer to a new
one running XP. I have successfully copied or
transferred all of my files into the new XP computer.
Only IE Favorites and OE5 email messages remain to be
installed. Both are in the new harddrive but I'm having
no luck w/ moving them to their correct folders. ANy
help?

Put the OE DBX files (including Folders.dbx) in an empty Windows folder.
Then use OE's File | Import | Messages.
Select impporting from OE6, the DBX format is the same.
Navigate to the folder you put the DBX files in.

See Backup and Restore at this site:

The site starts out with a link to a free OE backup program.

I forgot to mention that if they were transferred via CD you will have to
remove the Read Only attribute from the DBX files.

How do I remove the Read Only feature? Pretty sure this
is the holdup.

Also, how do I import my favorites into IE, they
transferrred into My Documents instead of IE.

Thanks.

If the DBX files are in a folder of their own, select one and Press Ctrl-A
to select all.
Right click and select Properties.
Uncheck the Read Only box on the General tab.

If you still have the old machine, open IE and choose File | Import and
Export.
