transferring 26 bytes from NT to XP

I need to copy over a REALLY small file from our UPS computer running on win
nt, I can drag it to a floppy but myxp computers can't read the floppy, it
usually says it's unformatted, so if I format, and bring it downstairs, the
ups computer can't read the disk.

This is totally killin me here because it's not connected to a network and
it doesn't have internet access so I couldn't e-mail it. Any suggestions?

The two floppy drive do not line up the tracks on the diskette. Change the
NT floppy drive with a newer unit.

Grab a new disk and format it from the DOS prompt (format /u a on the XP
Computer. Without copying any files, see if the NT system can access the
disk. If it can, you should be set, otherwise grab another disk and do the
same thing, this time formatting it on the NT system. Make sure to do it
from the command prompt though (start/run/cmd/enter).

THis sounds as as if the floppy drives on the two machines are not
aligned to each other - with drives becoming very much cheap corner-cut
devices this is not uncommon. If you have USB ports on both machines
I'd suggest one of the USB plug in flash memory devices - in small
sizes these are now quite cheap, and I use one a lot for taking small
amounts of data to other machines
