Transfering Windows mail to Office Standard (Outlook) 2007

Norma Peterson

I am a new user of Windows Vista and feel really stupid. Here's the
question(s):

When I initially bought the laptop, I activated Windows Mail. Worked
beautifully.
Then I got a little braver and bought Office Standard 2007, installed it and
tried to move my e-mail to Outlook. How do I remove/de-activate Windows
Mail and start using Outlook 2007? Error messages consists of ??encrption??
and unable to send test message during configuration.

Any help ( I am a senior citizen trying to learn in this young people's
world) is extremely appreciated!!

Windows Mail cannot be removed since it is part of Vista.

Installing Outlook should make it the default email program.
Outlook tends to be more complex to use than Windows Mail.
For help with Outlook problems, you will get more assistance in an
Outlook newsgroup: microsoft.public.outlook.general

There is on remove or de-activate for Windows Mail, you merely don't use it
anymore and use Outlook 2007 instead. As to the errors, would you please
post the error message(s) in their entirety?
