Transfering files (file sharing)

I'm in a bit of pinch. I've got a very old dell machine with win 95 on it.
The machine is crippeled and only has a working networking port. I've got
tons of files that I need to get over to a new XP machine. I have no Windows
95os disks or ways to update the computer (CD drive broken), etc.

Is there a way to bulk xfer files? I was trying to direct connect the
devices through the ethernet port but I couldn't get that going. I do have
internet access on the 95 machine but emailing files one at a time is a
horrible option

Help please - is there an easy way to direct connect the machines so I push
the files over?

Directly connecting two computers via Ethernet requires a crossover
cable. A regular Ethernet cable won't work.

Another possibility is to remove the hard disk from the Win 95 machine
and mount it in the XP machine. You could then leave the disk in, or
copy its contents to the XP main disk and then return it to the Win 95
machine.
