? Transfer Word document to disk ?

I cannot 'send' a normal Word document to my 3 1/2 disk! What are the exact
steps? The "WORD" help does not explain it right - - - at least for me.

File | Save As |and when the save dialog box pops up browse to My Computer
and the A drive, although I don't ever recommend saving a word document to
floppy disks.

do you not recommend saving Word doc to floppy?

If there is a shortcut to your floppy drive in the Windows Send To folder,
you should be able to use the right-click menu to do this.

Hi Preacher:

Glad to hear that I helped you. I don't normally recommend saving documents
to floppy disks because there is a greater chance that the document will
become corrupt.

I don't know what that particualr option was not included on the shortcut
menu but the good news is that you can add it there yourself. Please see
this document and scroll all the way through and you will find the
instructions there. I hope this has been helpful to you.

Do it with your operating system, not Word!

If you want to be able to use your documents, when working within Word, act
as if your floppy drive does not exist! (This applies to CDRW/CDR drives as
well.)

Don't use Word to:
Open a document on a floppy
Print a document on a floppy
Edit a document on a floppy
Save a document to a floppy (not even a copy)

Word regularly trashes documents on floppy drives!

Instead, work on the document using your hard drive. Copy it back and forth
using Windows.

I know that for some with shared computers (libraries, schools) this is a
tough prescription. All I can recommend for that is to use a brand new
formatted disk each time you save and don't do any editing.
