Transfer Outlook Contacts

I have one computer with all my contacts on and would like to
synchronise with a new laptop I have just bought. I know that there can
be some pitfalls if you don't do it the correct way so I'm asking for
help from someone. The laptop is running Office 2007 and Vista Home, the
desktop that has the contact information on it is also running Office
2007 but the operating system is XP Home.
Any help would be appreciated.
