Transfer info from one sheet to another

Hi all.
I'm having a wee problem and was wondering if any one out there coul
please help me.

I have created a sheet in Excel which contains 8 columns.
Column A contains peoples names and the other seven columns contain
time.

What i am hoping to do, is transfer peoples names and the times for th
column selected onto another sheet that i have created.

So, for example, if i select column C, all the people who have a tim
in that coulmn will be transfered onto the other sheet.

Basically, it is for a rota system for my work. The 'weekly' rota shee
contains my staff and the times and days that they are working thi
week. The other sheet is a 'daily' rota sheet and i only want the name
and times of the peope who are working on that day to be shown on thi
sheet

I have thought about using the SELECT INTO statement, but i a
struggling to make it happen. I have attached my 'rotas' so you ca
have a loook if it helps.

Any help/info would be much appreciated

Thanks in advanc

I like to keep my data together.

Have you tried selecting your range, then data|filter|autofilter.

You could hide/show the rows you want. Maybe it's just as good as the copy.

(if you really need to do a copy, I'd still do the data|filter|autofilter and
then show the rows that I want to copy. Then copy those visible rows to the new
sheet.)

I too have used systems using exactly what Dave is talking about and it
works perfectly.........the whole process can even be automated by recording
a macro to do the AutoFilter procedure and even copy over to another sheet
if you wish..........all with the "push of a button"............

Thanks for your reply.

I am probably going to do the data|filter|autofilter 'thingy' and the
copy it onto my other sheet.

However, i am still slightly puzzled on 1 small query.

On my main 'weekly rota' sheet, not all staff are going to be workin
everyday. So, is it possible to select the whole column, (for example
Monday) and do the data|filter|autofilter command onto my other sheet
but only copying cells that have information in them. Therefore, i a
not copying blank cells too.

Thanks again for your hel

There's an option under the dropdown to show non-blanks (and blanks, too).

Under those autofilter arrows, there's also an option for Custom. You can do
lots of things under that.
