can you read/write off the old hard drive? is it a laptop or desktop?
if it's a desktop and you can read/write you can just slave it out and
trasnfer the files. but if you can still boot to the drive and you can
run outlook from the computer back up the outlook pst.

you can do this by doing the following.

http://www.sd391.k12.id.us/compserv/tutorials/outlookpst.htm

only thing I do differently from this site is I choose no encryption on
the last step

burn this to a cd or put it on a pen drive and you can import this
doing the import wizard from file on the new HD.

I forgot you can also use the file and settings transfer wizard in
windows. i forget how to get there with the mouse but the run command
is "migwiz". start run "migwiz"
