Hello, on a Dell Dimension 8400 machine that had XP home spanish I did
a files and setting transfer wizard to transfer the outlook messages
and configuration. That was the only option I selected. It configured
and save the files to a folder in the computer, named USMT2.UMC which
inside had 2 files, IMG00001.dat (150307Kb) and status(12 bytes). The
folder was burned into a CD and the machine was formatted. This
procedure was done on a similar system last week and it worked. After
formatting the computer and installing XP again(same CD that came with
the computer) I did the wizard to transfer the settings. I chose the
folder (USMT2.UMC) from which it was supose to get the files and it
gave an error, that said that the location selected doesnt contain the
appropiate files(this is a translation, the error was in spanish).
I did the same procedure last week on a similar computer and it worked
perfectly but this time I dont know what happened and Im scared that Im
going to lose all the data.
If anybody knows how to fix it Id really appreciate the help,
